A Kangatraining class combines post natal exercise with a supportive, uplifting parents group to give you the ultimate pick-me-up experience. You will love this mums and bubs exercise class.
Your precious little one is kept close as part of the workout. The class consists of a gentle warm up with little one in your arms, then we move onto strengthening floor exercises where little one can lay close to you or be part of the exercise and finish off with little ones in the carriers, where they will likely have a nap as they are close to you.
Kangatraining incorporates mat strengthening exercises, choreo-based low impact cardio and strengthening tracks, barre, repeaters and stretches to give you a full body workout that is safe and fun, all while baby is either in your arms, beside you or in the carrier. This means there is no need for childcare - hooray!
Kangatraining is a style of low-impact-interval-training (or LIIT). This ensures you get the most out of your workout. Don't be fooled though, low-impact doesn't mean it's easy! The best thing about Kanga is that you can take it as easy as you need or push yourself a little more when you are ready. Your strength and fitness will increase as your baby grows.
We don't take ourselves too seriously at Kanga and we promise to make you laugh. Our classes are open to everyone whether you have a new baby, toddler, twins, grandchildren, foster children, older siblings to tag along - everyone is welcome!
We also encourage you to do whatever you need during class - baby hungry? feed them! Need a nappy change? Go for it! Lots of our KangaBabies sleep during class, but it's also completely normal to have an off day and are used to babies hopping out of the carrier half way through a class.
Our mission at Kangatraining Ferntree Gully & Surrounds is to create a safe and welcoming space for new parents to receive support, meet other local mum's and bubs, enjoy the benefits of babywearing and have fun all while getting some movement back into their lives. We are big on mental health support too.

Our classes run in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Kangatraining is a fun, post natal exercise class where your baby is part of the class, which means no childcare or creche needed.
Our classes also provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can come and meet other local mums and bubs, receive support and get those endorphins flowing.
Join us from 6 weeks post vaginal birth or 12 weeks post c-section.
KangaMix, KangaTrail & KangaOnWheel are our outdoor mums and bubs exercise programmes providing something a little different. We incorporate fast walking into the class with less dance-based choreos than our indoor class. KangaMix and KangaOnWheel also provide the opportunity for families to use a pram instead of a carrier.

These classes run across several of the outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and resumes in September, 2023.
Kangatraining is our programme which gets kids moving. It can be a great follow on from Kanga classes or as a starting point to get kids more involved with movement and using their imagination through rituals, songs, games and activities.
Classes are suitable from around 18 months to around 5 years.
We are currently taking expressions of interest for our Kids classes.
